Napi Friendship Association (NFA) had volunteers filling hampers for close to 200 hamper requests on Thursday, December 18, doing their best to make sure that every family in our communities could have a merry Christmas. "We had an extremely generous donation from the food bank," explained Napi Executive Director Dianna Gray. NFA was distributing hampers to those that had made requests through the Napi membership, Brighter Futures, Piikani Children and Family Services, and Piikani elders. "We have had amazing volunteers" Gray said. As well as packing hampers, volunteers picked donations and supplies, and did deliveries. Gray said that even though the office will be closed over the holidays someone will be checking the phone (403-627-4224) in case of emergency hampers.
The staff said that they were happy that all Piikani elders that had asked for a hamper would have it delivered right to their home.
