| Midget Huskies vs Warner Sabres |
Pincher Creek's Midget Huskies were able to hit, fight and check their way to a 10-1 home-ice win on Friday against their rivals, Warner's South Country Sabers. Holding Warner to only 3 shots on net in the third period, the teams racked up 71 total penalty minutes throughout the game, including 10 for offsetting majors for fighting. Assistant coaches Lyle Douglas and Rick Koentges took over for head coach Kent Goodreau after he was ejected for expressing his displeasure to the refs for a controversial call that saw Tyson Goodreau ejected with an extra instigator penalty tacked on to his fight penalty.
Warner saw 2 different players ejected* which left the rest of their team with small numbers on the bench, making it hard to play the number 1ranked Huskies, who only 1 sent to the dressing room. Pincher was able to keep their perfect record intact, now 8-0, and look to keep that streak alive on the road next weekend against Kainai and Bow Island. The weekend after that they are also sheduled to play away against Picture Butte, their last game of 2014. The Huskies and Sabres aren't scheduled to meet up again until early February in Warner, when it's once again expected that these rivals will again play a physical, hard hitting hockey game.
