MCC Arena temporarily closed due to possible hazardous material leak

The Pincher Creek MCC Arena was temporarily shut down today, Monday December 15. Arena staff reported an ammonia smell in the compressor room of the arena before it was open to the public . EMS investigated to ensure that no one was at risk. Recreation Manager Adam Grose said "Our refrigeration guys, Star Tech, are here right now." They expect to have the rink up and running shortly, but will be closed "until we know that there is no threat to anyone's safety."

Update:  The arena is now open again, after being closed for less than three hours.
