Robert Duncan wanted by Whitecourt RCMP
Whitecourt RCMP
On November 3, 2014 shortly after 9:00 pm Whitecourt RCMP officers responded to several complaints of an impaired driver in the downtown area of Whitecourt. A witness reported that a CN worker, who was working on the tracks, was almost struck by the vehicle. Patrolling officers shortly thereafter spotted and attempted to conduct a traffic stop with the suspect vehicle on Highway 43 east of Whitecourt. The suspect vehicle took flight and after a short distance the pursuit was terminated due to police and public safety.
Further patrols were conducted and the vehicle was located rolled in a ditch in a rural area near the hamlet of Blue Ridge east of Whitecourt. RCMP Police Dog Service attended and searched the area but was unsuccessful in locating the suspect. Later during the night, while Whitecourt officers were continuing their search, a vehicle stop was made again with the same suspect who was operating a different vehicle which had been determined to also be stolen. The lone suspect was positively identified as Robert Ali DUNCAN, a 43-year-old man of Blue Ridge, Alberta. Duncan again took flight evading police and maneuvered his vehicle in a way which caused one of the officers to discharge his service weapon towards the rear tire of the vehicle. No one was injured as a result of the discharge; however DUNCAN fled driving the second stolen vehicle. He remains at large.
DUNCAN is described as: native, 6 feet tall, 185 lbs, shaven head and a scorpion tattoo on the left side of his neck. He was last seen driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD pick-up truck, blue granite metallic, crew cab and short box.
A warrant of arrest has been issued for DUNCAN. He is facing charges of Flight from Police, Break & Enter, Theft of Motor Vehicles and Fail to comply with a Probation Order among other several outstanding warrants.
It is believed that DUNCAN is armed and dangerous; DUNCAN also displayed unpredictable behavior in the past and should not be approached by the public. If you have information of DUNCAN's whereabouts, please contact the Whitecourt RCMP at 780-778-5454 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.tipsubmit.com
