Season ends for Senior Mustangs
Pincher Creek's Senior Mustangs were blanked by a considerable margin by the #2 ranked Claresholm Cobras on October 24. That loss ended the season for the Mustangs. Mustangs Booster Association Faith Zachar, who is THE expert on football in Pincher Creek, said afterward she was gratified by the game, despite the score. She said the Mustangs showed a great deal of sportsmanship during the tough competition against a much larger and generally older and more experienced team, a very marked improvement over their behaviour when they hosted Claresholm early in the season, behaviour which at that time earned the Mustangs disciplinary actions by their own coaches. "We were so proud of our boys last night," Zachar said. "What a big difference." Zachar said the team almost got three touchdowns, including one that was achieved but pulled back on a penalty call.
The Mustangs will be holding a Skills/BBQ/gear return event next Saturday, November 1 at Matthew Halton field, tentatively scheduled to start around noon.

Rocky start for Rockies

The AA Peewee Rockies have newly rebooted this season after many years of dormancy, and so far it seems like they're having a building year after 5 losses. The AA Bantam Rockies have lost all 8 games they've played this season. Being on these teams definitely exposes the athletes to competition of a different calibre, but a breakthrough game for either of them has been elusive so far. However, it's still very early in the season.
