Matthew Halton School's Junior A (grades 8 and 9) Hawks Girls volleyball team hosted their Piikani counterparts on the evening of October 9.  Piikani's strongest set was the first one, which they won 25-23.  The Hawks were well ahead from the start in the second set, winning it 25-11.  The third set was tied several times during the first half, but the Hawks pulled ahead in the second half to win it 25-16.

Both teams played well, and for the Hawks their strong showing is a good sign going into the A and B Girls tournament that is to be held at Matthew Halton School this Friday and Saturday, beginning at 2:30 pm Friday, October 10.  A total of 8 "A" teams and 5 "B" teams are scheduled to participate.
