Pincher Creek RCMP recovered a car that was stolen from Calgary on Tuesday, September 30. On the same day a pickup truck was stolen from the Pincher Creek Co-op parking lot, and a rural residence was broken into. There thieves took the owner's gun safe holding firearms, jewelry, and other property. The stolen pickup truck was later found in Calgary.
According to Pincher Creek Detachment Commander Sgt. Dixon "The owner of the truck noticed it was missing at 3:30 pm, but it could have happened anytime because (the driver) was working. For the house, they called us at almost 6:00 at night. That happened sometime during the day."
The car was recovered from a ditch south of Pincher Creek, on Township Line Road east of Highway 6. "The car has been examined for DNA and fingerprints, and we have some leads from that we are going to follow up on. The truck was recovered in Calgary the next morning," explained Sgt. Dixon.
"Watch for suspicious vehicles and call us right away."
