Cardston votes a resounding no to alcohol sales, backyard chickens, and Sunday sports

The predominantly Mormon town of Cardston held a non-binding plebiscite yesterday, October 6. Citizens were asked a number of questions. Backyard hens, alcohol sales, and Sunday sporting events at Town operated fields and facilities were definitively rejected by the voters. Flouride in the Town's drinking water found favour with a very small majority of voters. Approximately 1450 voters out of appriximately 1800 eligible voters turned out for the plebiscite.

The Town of Cardston has been alcohol-free for 109 years, and seems likely to remain so for the forseeable future.
