Pincher Creek Royal Canadian Legion #43 has invited Retired Colonel, Honourable Donald S. Ethell to participate in a special Remembrance Day Service. The Remembrance Day service is tentatively scheduled to be held at Matthew Halton High School at 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 5, 2014.
Matthew Halton was born in Pincher Creek and was a war correspond embedded with the troops during WWII. The High School is named after him and his portrait is displayed in the school. The Legion plans to invite 5 local schools to be part of this Remembrance: St. Michael's School, Matthew Halton High School, Canyon School, Livingstone School of Lundbreck, Piikani Nation Secondary School First Nation of Brocket, and interested citizens of Pincher Creek.
