A snowy September day in southwestern Alberta

Updated: A snowfall warning issued by Environment Canada for Pincher Creek and much of southwestern Alberta for September 10, 2014 is no longer in effect and has been removed from this article.

Pincher Creek and area experienced isolated power outages, some experienced temporary internet service disruptions, and many overburdened trees created many issues, in some cases causing damages to homes, vehicles, and other property. Fortis responded to at least one downed power line, in the Scobie Avenue area, and there were signs of damaged/compromised lines in other areas of town as well. Gravel roads in the MD of Pincher Creek were in rough shape this afternoon. Temperatures hovered around the 0° mark.

The Weather Network predicts approximately 1cm of snowfall overnight, with a mainly sunny to sunny day predicted for tomorrow, Thursday, September 11.
