Earlier today, September 19, Cowley Fire responded to a burn pile east of the village. A caterpillar stirring up ashes caused a minor flare up. A Cowley Fire crew consisting of Jim Cisar, Jannet Findlater, and Paul Watson quickly controlled the situation. "The only thing that was kind of worrisome was a bit of flare up, and wind," explained Chief Cisar. "It's probably 30 kilometres an hour, anyway."
