^ Carly Gilmore competed in Western Equestrian representing Warner. Gilmore was riding Red and got Silver in Western Showmanship. - T. Lucas

^ Megan McGlynn of Pincher Creek won English Equitation Silver, English Command Bronze, and Western Showmanship Bronze before she was finished showing her horse Breezy on Saturday. - T. Lucas

^ The Metcalfe family with 4 medals in trapshooting: Jay won Gold in Men A 18-54, Stephanie won Gold in Women D 18-54, Trent won Silver in Boys 9-12 and TJ won Bronze in Boys 13-17.



^ Shenoa Jessen (10) on Skipper won Gold medals, for Peewee Western Equestrian horsemanship and Pleasure. She learned from the judges "To make his head look nice."

^ Dan Crawford (Pincher Creek) earned 3 Gold medals for shooting in Small Bore - Men 18-54 Class A, Class C, and Class D.  Crawford also earned a Silver in Small Bore - Men 18-54 Class C.

Cardston County's  U14 Soccer team earned Silver

^ John Horvath (MD of Taber) was awarded Bronze for Archery - Male Masters 60+

^ Paul Deme (MD of Taber) was awarded Gold for Archery - Male Masters 60+ Traditional. At 76 years of age, he said he was probably the oldest person competing.

Tim Jorgensen won gold in the Digital Manipulation under 12 years (U12) photo category.  He entered a photo of caked mud (shown above) and enhanced the colours. He also got an Honourable Mention” for his photo of a lupin (shown below), also in the U12 Outdoor category.




^ Jessa and Cory Nelson are a father-daughter team from the County of 40 Mile who won Gold in mixed open doubles for badminton. The two agreed that it was great to be in the games. - T. Lucas

^16 year old Emily Wenelboe and 17 year old Beth Hanna of Lethbridge won Gold in girls badminton doubles for their age category. - T. Lucas




^Brittanie Bruder and Jenny Gao from Brooks in the County of Newell have been playing badminton together for two years. They won Silver for their age group. - T. Lucas

Pincher Creek's Senior Dust Devils defeat Medicine Hat 17-15 to take Gold at the 2014 SASG.  Matthew Duncan on the mound bottom of the seventh, three up/three down for a classic ending.  Here's a little video of the final play of the game and some shenanigans afterward.  - C.Davis

Hailey Parker of Medicine Hat won Gold at the Girls 12/13 400m Dash today July 2.  She's also competing in the 100m and 200m dashes. - C. Davis

^ Pincher Creek's Justine Jorgensen won a Gold medal in Long Jump on July 2.  She'll be participating in Triple Jump and Rugby as well.  Also look for Justine on the other side of the lens and keyboard as she's reporting for the Pincher Creek Voice this summer.

Jaxon Shenton 
^ Jaxon Shenton won a first place award for photography 12 and under for his underwater portrait taken during open-swimming at the Pincher Creek Pool. Later during the games Shenton will be swimming with the Pincher Creek Dolphins. The Photography and Quilt Displays are hosted in Matthew Halton School from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm throughout the games.  Additional quilt displays are at the Ranchland Mall, banks, and Main Street businesses. - T.
