At approximately 6:30 pm on Wednesday, July 30 Pincher Creek Emergency Services responded with engine 11 to a bale fire that occurred due to a lightning strike at a location south of Twin Butte just before the Waterton Park Boundary. The bale was sitting by itself a distance away from any other bales in a field. The bale was broken apart and the fire was contained before any significant damage could happen to the surrounding area.
