During the regular meeting of Pincher Creek Town Council on June 9, 2014 Mayor Don Anderberg presented tokens of appreciation to members of the previous Pincher Creek Town Council.  Sahra Hancock (with her son Rowan) joined Murray Lauder, Wayne Oliver, and former Mayor Ernie Olsen as recipients.

"It's like seeing long lost family," said Wayne Oliver.  Anderberg made note of each person's public service on council, and the efforts that they are currently involved in.  Mayor Anderberg said that Sahra Hancock served 6 years on council and currently sits on the Municipal Subdivision Appeal Board, while Murray Lauder served 3 years of council service.  Wayne Oliver is currently on the Recreation Committee, the Pincher Creek Foundation and the Southern Alberta Summer Games Committee.

"Mayor Olsen, thank you very much for your dedication to the community. You have served as Councillor, you served as Mayor.  I know you did a lot of hard work and put a lot of hours in, and were very involved in the community," said Anderberg.  To the whole of the previous council he said, "It is sometimes a thankless task, but a rewarding task. Thank you very much again, we appreciate it."
