A U12 soccer game between Pincher Creek and Fort Macleod on Wednesday, May 28th had an additional player on the field: the weather, and it won.
Before the game started there was a brief stint of hail that dispersed quickly, leaving a cloud over the the field as it continued to rain.The teams showed their spirit and played on anyway.
With the wet conditions continuing, a few of the spectators chose to find cover. The Fort McLeod team, "Purple Storm", have tons of spirit, and a number of younger players. Pincher appeared to be the more experienced team and was slightly ahead 3-1 when the skies opened up and it started to pour. Lightning and a return of the hail quickly ended the game before the half.
