Members of the Pincher Creek RCMP Detachment, Fish and Wildlife, and Pincher Creek Emergency Services worked a double-double shift at the drive through and front counter of the Pincher Creek Tim Horton's for Camp Day, Wednesday June 4. On Camp Day Tim Hortons restaurant owners donate 100 per cent of coffee sale proceeds to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation (THCF). It's the foundation's largest annual fundraiser. Customers were also invited to donate to THCF.
$3,300 was raised yesterday at the Pincher Creek Tim Hortons, according to Manager Shannon Comin. "It went very well," she said. "It went better than last year."
The restaurant windows were decorated, and some members of the staff and support team indulged in a little bit of face painting too.
Macleod riding Conservative candidate John Barlow was also spotted, seen here chatting with local RCMP Constable Doug Sokoloski. Barlow did his Camp Day volunteering elsewhere, but was in town meeting with potential constituents in advance of the June 30 by-election.

THFC hosts six camps for children from low-income families, who are selected from within the communities where Tim Hortons restaurants are located. One of those camps is the 150 acre Tim Horton Children's Ranch in Kananaskis, which offers archery, large sports fields, horseback riding, hiking, rock climbing, white water rafting, an outdoor adventure program with a low-ropes adventure course, ice skating in the winter, and other camp activities, all in the beautiful Canadian Rockies. In addition to summer camping, the ranch is open all year to schools, youth groups and other community organizations that meet the foundation's selection criteria. Camp Day raised $11.8 million for the foundation in 2013. TCHF expects to send more than 17,000 kids to camp this year.
