Water looping project underway in Pincher Creek

At Vista Village

According to a recent public notice, the Town of Pincher Creek is undertaking a major water looping project this summer.  The purpose of water looping is to eliminate dead ends in the water distribution system, increasing flow pressures which assist in firefighting and ensure more consistency and ease of tracking for water quality.

Areas scheduled for upgrades are:

  1. New water line installation between the Ranchland Mall and Vista Village, tying into Tumbleweed Avenue
  2. New water line installation under Hewetson Avenue to Blairmore Street, including a new hydrant and tying into Bev Mclachlin Drive.
  3. Replace existing water line on Dundas Street from Albert Avenue to Bev Mclachlin Drive.
  4. Tie in existing water mains on John Avenue and Dundas Street, complete with two new hydrants.
  5. Replace existing water main on Main Street from Waterton Avenue to Poplar Avenue and from Main Street to Kettles Street, including one new hydrant.

The Town asks that you please use extra caution along effected roadways throughout the duration of this project as there will be an increased volume of vehicle, equipment and foot traffic.
