There was red carpet treatment for Livingstone School's grade 12 students at the Pincher Creek Community Hall on Friday, May 9. The graduates chose to theme their graduation event as 'A Night at the Oscars'.

The day started with a breakfast for the students prepared by the Livingstone School staff, and ended with young men and women saying farewell to their school days and taking a big step toward their upcoming roles as adults in our society.
Guest Speaker Garry Hackler
Guest speaker Garry Hackler took everyone on a humourous and poignant journey. When asked to be the guest speaker at this graduation it got him thinking 'Who was the guest speaker at my Lundbreck grad?' He talked of contacting old classmates, trying to satisfy his own curiosity. The gist of the story was that decades later no one that he contacted could remember exactly who the guest speaker was, but there were renewed connections anyway. He told the class that everyone's memories are special and unique, and advised them to remember what is special to each one individually.

The pin presentation was done by Vice Principal Mary Krizan. Requested annually by the students, Krizan presents each student with a task to perform to earn their pin. These affectionate and occasionally embarrassing missions showed the staff knew the students well.

The Scroll presentation was held with great ceremony by Principal Teri Donald. After the ceremonies the students made use of the props set up for photo opportunities and held a dance.
