Traffic violation leads to drug bust at Piikani Nation

  • Failing to obey a traffic sign results in trafficking charges for two Southern Alberta Individuals
Shortly before 11:00PM Thursday, March 27, 2014 the Piikani Nation RCMP were patrolling the Piikani Nation, Alberta. Officers entered into a traffic investigation when they observed a vehicle fail to stop at a marked intersection.

Upon approaching the vehicle officers detected the odor of what they knew to be cannabis (marihuana). At this time officers began investigation in the possession of a controlled substance. Investigation led to the seizure of more than eighty grams of controlled substances including cannabis (marihuana), cannabis resin (oil) and psilocybin (magic mushrooms) as well as various drug paraphernalia.

 Twenty year old Tenise SHADE of Cardston, Alberta and twenty one year old Samuel CRANE of T’suu T’ina Nation, Alberta are charged with two counts possession of a controlled substance and one count possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. They are scheduled to appear in Pincher Creek Provincial Court on Tuesday, April 29, 2014
