Vista Village hosted a St. Patrick’s Day tea for all their residents on March 18th. Festivities kicked off at 3:00 P.M. with several trivia questions about St. Patrick. I’m pretty sure everyone learned something new! After that, it was time for some St. Patrick’s Day songs. The songs were led by Laurie Watson, Audrey Gross, Grace Fitzpatrick, Dot McInnes, and Diana Reed. Many of the Vista Village residents enjoyed it, and most were singing along as well! The songs lasted until 3:30 P.M., but I think some people wanted to keep it going for longer.
After the songs, Mel Walker brought out some clover-shaped cookies, a pizza shaped like a rainbow, and some tea! Everyone was now talking and mingling with each other during the snack break.
Mrs. Walker then asked if anyone in the room was Irish or had Irish blood in them, and a few hands immediately shot up! One of those hands belonged to Diana Reed, whom I spoke with about St. Patrick’s Day right away. She explained that although she only had a little bit of Irish blood in her, she still loves the holiday.

“Oh, I love St. Patrick’s Day!” she exclaimed enthusiastically.
“What does St. Patrick’s Day mean to you?” I asked. Diana paused a moment to think about it and then replied,
“I always like the leprechaun and pot of gold things.” she said. “I think this day brings out the devil in me!” she exclaimed while laughing.
If you ask me, I would say the event was a success! Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, there were lots of smiles, laughing, and just downright joyful people. What more could you ask for?
