Update 6:20 am March 14: RCMP advise that both Highway 63 and Highway 881 are now re-opened for traffic.

RCMP advise that the following highways are CLOSED:
Highway 63: From Grassland, AB. to Fort McMurray, AB.
Highway 881: From KM marker 150, approx. 110 Kilometres north of Lac La Biche, AB. to Fort McMurray, AB.
RCMP from Fort McMurray and Lac La Biche Detachments advise that freezing rain and snow has made the highway treacherous and impassable
Travel is not recommended and is unsafe it is strongly encouraged that motorists NOT travel through this area until conditions improve.
