The Pincher Creek Chamber of Commerce held their annual general meeting at the Heritage Inn on Wednesday, March 19 with Chamber President Sharon Roberts presiding.

Although the Chamber of Commerce has wide ranging and established programming that will continue, they are looking for ways to have more youth engagement.  To that end they will continue their well received Kid's Discovery Day.   The Chamber also plans to expand on the Junior Achievement Program, and currently have two younger people involved at the board level.

Dylon Barber has recently returned to Pincher Creek after graduating from university and is a director, and Caelan Taylor will sit on the board.  "It is a kind of honourary position on the Chamber Board," said Roberts.  "He will not have voting rights, because he is not representing a chamber member.  He is a grade 11 student at Matthew Halton, with a pretty impressive resume."

Taylor said that he has worked at three different jobs, has traveled extensively, has attended a variety of leadership camps, and has a variety of volunteer experience.  "I'm looking forward to it, and giving a youth perspective, and be of some help," said Taylor about his new position with the Chamber.

After a vote was conducted, the 2014 Chamber of Commerce Board includes:

President:  Sharon Roberts
Vice-President:  Lynne Walker
Treasurer:  Aletta Maier

Directors:  BJ Scott, Wendy Kalkan, Sheran Carter, Dylon Barber, Sonia Bratz, Stephen Valcourt, Shannon Robin and Brad Williams.
