Group Group Youth (GGY) has been hosting photography workshops led by photo artist Yvan LeBel. "He explained how to frame them, and how to show depth, and what makes a good picture," explained Lauralee Jones, who is participating in the program.

Many of the photos she shared feature her friend Dakota Coulter who was willing to model for her for a day.

"I learned a lot, a lot more than I used to." She said that she is looking forward to the next aspect of the course, when they go on photography walks. Currently 15 year old Jones is home schooled and enjoys art, soccer, and snowboarding.

Group Group Youth participants already have an eye on the Southern Alberta Summer Games that will be happening in Pincher Creek in June. Jones will be working at GGY to help coordinate some of the programming. "I will be helping little kids with photography," she explained.

Director Lynne Teneyche has had GGY participants win photography awards in the games in the past, and would like to see that happen again this year. "That was several years ago, and I need help to do it again, but that is what we're gearing up for."
