Lake Louise RCMP looking for witnesses to crashed stolen car
The Lake Louise RCMP are currently investigating a stolen vehicle from Calgary which crashed on highway 1 just east of Lake Louise on January 18th, 2014 at 8:00 am. RCMP are looking for witnesses that may have stopped to assist the passengers of the vehicle and or given them a ride from the scene. It is possible the vehicle was on its side initially but was pushed right side up by the occupants or passers by.

Lake Louise RCMP looking for witnesses to crashed stolen car
The Lake Louise RCMP are currently investigating a stolen vehicle from Calgary which crashed on highway 1 just east of Lake Louise on January 18th, 2014 at 8:00 am. RCMP are looking for witnesses that may have stopped to assist the passengers of the vehicle and or given them a ride from the scene. It is possible the vehicle was on its side initially but was pushed right side up by the occupants or passers by.

| Crashed stolen car on Highway 1 near Lake Louise |
Several people were on the Highway at the time travelling to the annual Ice Magic festival, anyone who recalls seeing this collision and/or the occupants on the highway is asked to call the Lake Louise RCMP at 403-522-3812.
The suspect was identified as:
Shortly before midnight on Friday, January 17th, RCMP Spruce Grove/Stony Plain received a call about a possible impaired driver heading into Spruce Grove Westbound on Highway 16.
Police apprehended the vehicle in the vicinity of Grove Drive and King Street. As a result of this traffic stop, a 20 year-old man from Onoway has been charged with several drug-related offences.
Jessie Tyler NICKERSON stands charged with:
Jessie NICKERSON was released from custody on $500 cash bail, with conditions to abide by a 10:00 pm to 6:00 am curfew. He will appear in Stony Plain Provincial Court on Wednesday, January 29th.
Man charged in High Level homicide
In the early hours of January 16, 2014, High Level RCMP officers were dispatched to a disturbance outside a local hotel. Police determined two males who'd been involved in the altercation had shown up at the High Level hospital. The males who were brothers from the Ft. Vermillion area each suffered stab wounds and the 21 year old man died while being treated. His brothers injuries were less serious and he was treated and released from hospital. The identities of the victim's are not being released at the request of the family.
High Level RCMP officers with the assistance of Police Dog Services located a suspect at a nearby residence and he was subsequently arrested. Police with the assistance of RCMP Edmonton Major Crimes Unit and Peace River Forensic Identification Section have charged Kevin Manfredo MUNOZ-AVILEZ with second degree murder on the 21-year-old male victim. Kevin MUNOZ-AVILEZ was also charged with assault with weapon related to injuries sustained by the deceased's brother. MUNOZ-AVILEZ was remanded in custody to appear in High Level Provincial Court on January 20, 2014.
An autopsy on the victim has been completed and confirmed the death as a homicide.
Fort Vermillion man charged with Sexual Assault
Assumption RCMP officers have arrested and charged a 58-year-old male of Fort Vermillion, Abraham Chempottickal, with one count of sexual assault. An investigation was initiated in August 2013 as a result of a complaint reported by an adult female alleging that Abraham Chempottickal had inappropriately touched her.
Abraham Chempottickal has been released to appear in Assumption Provincial Court on Wednesday February 5, 2014.

Drayton Valley man shot, injured
In the early morning hours of January 19, 2014, Police responded to a complaint of shots fired at a residence in Drayton Valley, Alberta. Police and EMS responded and located a 31 year old male suffering from a single gun shot wound. The male is in hospital, recovering from his injuries.
This matter is still under investigation by Drayton Valley RCMP detachment with assistance from Drayton Valley and Edmonton General Investigation Section and Edson Forensic Identification Section.

Suspicious male in Brooks approaches young girl
On Monday January 13, 2014 shortly after 3:00 p.m near Sunnylea in Brooks, AB a young female was approached by a lone male in a truck, while walking home from a bus stop. The male offered her candy and asked her to get into his vehicle. The female ran from the location. The male was reported to leave the scene in the vehicle.
The male is reported to be a Caucasian male, 20-30 years old with a thin build and Brown hair. He was also wearing a Black jacket with pockets on the arms and chest. The vehicle is described as a newer model Black regular cab pick-up with Red around the top of the box, with a chrome rear bumper.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brooks RCMP detachment at 403-794-4400.
Composite sketch released of Airdrie area Home Invasion and Residential Break and Enters suspect
On January 14, 2014, Airdrie Rural RCMP were dispatched to a home invasion in Delacour, Alberta, South East of Airdrie. A suspect male entered the home, and gained control of the single male occupant in the residence by giving verbal threats. He proceeded to steal jewelry and cash monies from the residence and fled the scene in a small passenger vehicle, Silver in color, possibly an Acura. Two more break and enters to residences were also reported in the rural area on January 14, 2014 and January 15, 2014. It is unknown at this time if they are related. The suspect was identified as:
- Caucasian Male
- mid 20's
- Height of 6'-6'2"
- Approximately 210-240 lbs, Muscular build
- Short brown hair styled in a faux hawk
- Wearing running shoes, Orange tint aviator type sunglasses, Blue jeans, t-shirt (Ed Hardy or similar type with designs)

| Methamphetamine and pipe seized in bust |
Jessie Tyler NICKERSON stands charged with:
- possession of a Schedule I substance (methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking
- possession of a Schedule I substance (methamphetamine)
- possession of property obtained by crime (cash)
- Just over 15 grams of methamphetamine was seized, along with a quantity of cash and related drug paraphernalia.
Jessie NICKERSON was released from custody on $500 cash bail, with conditions to abide by a 10:00 pm to 6:00 am curfew. He will appear in Stony Plain Provincial Court on Wednesday, January 29th.

Sudden death at Suncor
On Sunday, January 19, shortly before 8:00 a.m. Wood Buffalo RCMP was dispatched to Suncor in response to a missing employee, a 40 year old male from Fort McMurray. While police were en route to Suncor they received information that suggested the missing employee may be deceased. RCMP members arrived on scene where the victim was located submerged in sand as a result of a work place incident. The exact cause of death is unknown at this time however the initial investigation reveals that the death does not appear to be suspicious. Occupational Health and Safety were contacted and are involved in the investigation.
Additional information in relation to the victim’s identity will not be released out of respect for the family.

Four men charged in Strathmore Break/Enter and truck Theft investigation
Between January 6, 2014 and January 14, 2014, Strathmore RCMP entered into twelve theft of vehicle investigations. It was believed that a group of men from Calgary were staying in the Strathmore area and responsible for the majority of these thefts.
On January 10, 2014, William Kelly a.k.a. Corey York, 19, and Dakota Bolton, a.k.a. Dakota Domroes, 19, were charged with several Criminal Code offences concerning these investigations. In Bail Hearings January 10, 2014, Kelly was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court on January 21, 2014 and Bolton was released on Bail.
On January 14, 2014, Strathmore RCMP responded to a Break and Enter at a Rockyford, Alberta business in which items valued at over $5000 were stolen. A truck stolen from Calgary and believed to have been used by suspects in commission of the break and enter was located in Strathmore a short time later. A residential Search Warrant was executed and seven people were arrested in Strathmore later in the day concerning this investigation.
On January 15, 2014, Strathmore RCMP charged Dakota Bolton, 19, Wilfred Barrett a.k.a. Bronson Palmantier, 19, and Robert Bourassa, 19, with Break and Enter to Commit Theft, Possession of Stolen Property and other related offences. Bourassa was also arrested for fourteen outstanding Warrants of Arrest for various Criminal Code offences out of Calgary, Alberta. All three Calgary men have been held in custody and are to appear in Strathmore Provincial Court on January 21, 2014 for Bail Hearings.

Whitecourt RCMP have been involved in an ongoing investigation surrounding the distribution of illicit street drugs in the town of Whitecourt and surrounding areas. With the assistance of Whitecourt General Investigation Section, Edmonton's Alberta Law Enforcement Team, RCMP Police Dog Services, Whitecourt Integrated Traffic Services and Mayerthorpe RCMP, 9 individual arrests have been made under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. In addition to the arrests, a search warrant was executed at a residential dwelling located in the town of Mayerthorpe, Alberta.
This concerted ongoing effort will reduce the efforts of persons involved in criminal activities and organized crime from becoming established in our area. The goal of these investigations will send a strong message to persons involved in these types of activities. Together, our communities will continue to address illicit street drug distribution and criminal activities to ensure safe homes and safe communities as part of our crime reduction strategy.
As a result of this collaborative policing effort various quantities of marihuana, cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin have been taken off the streets. The following persons have been arrested and are now facing numerous charges:

- Joanne Lousie HENKE has been charged with four counts of trafficking cocaine, along with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, marihuana, oxycodone, and morphine.
- Steven James STEWART has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
- Tammy Tracy PRIMEAU has been charged with one count of trafficking cocaine.
- Derek Paul PRIMEAU has been charged with three counts trafficking cocaine.
- Stephen Roderick POND has been charged with one count of trafficking cocaine.
- Blaise Fernand OLLENBERG has been charged with one count of trafficking methamphetamine.
- Jennifer Laurette DRUAR has been charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, along with possession of the purpose of trafficking cocaine and marihuana.
