Busy days for Pincher Creek Emergency Services

In addition to responding to the largest residential fire in recent Pincher Creek history on January 13 (click here for that story), Pincher Creek Emergency Services has been kept busy with other calls, including the most recent addition to the ongoing "semis blown over on Highway 22" list.

Just before 5:00 pm on Tuesday January 14 Pincher Creek Emergency Services (PCES) responded to an accident at the Highway 6/Highway 507 roundabout.  According to PCES Deputy Chief Patrick Neumann a bystander called in the incident.  Pincher Creek Ambulance and Rescue attended the scene.   A injured driver was discovered outside their vehicle in the roundabout and was transported to Pincher Creek Hospital with undetermined injuries.  It was unknown how the driver became injured.

At 8:30 am January 15 PCES responded to a tractor trailer rollover on Highway 22 approximately 20 kilometres north of Highway 3.  The vehicle was travelling northbound and ended up in the east easement.  RCMP requested fire engines be on scene due to the possibility of a fuel spill from the vehicle's fuel tank.  Two fire engines attended, one from Pincher Creek and one from Lundbreck.  There were no injuries in the incident.

Later on January 15 at around 2:30 pm PCES was again called to the Highway 22 area where they dealt with a hay bale fire.  At around 8:15 pm they were called back to the same scene when the same fire flared up again.  Full details of those incidents are not yet available at the time that this article is being published.
