That's cold, Pincher Creek

Pincher Creek was quite possibly the coldest place on earth for a period of time on Friday night, December 6, 2013. Temperatures dropped to -37°  Celsius at 8:00 pm ("feels like" -50°) on Friday, December 6 and didn't warm up to -36° until approximately 2 hours later, according to The Weather Network.

Three Hills Alberta topped the list for a while this morning, December 7 at -34° C before being bested by Eureka, Nunavut with a temperature of -35° C, according to the WX Now website.  At the time of writing this (11:30 am, December 7, 2013) WX Now is showing 8 Alberta weather measuring stations on their list of the top 15 coldest places in the world.  Several other weather measuring stations on that list are located in the neigbouring province of Saskatchewan and the neighbouring state of Montana.

According to Environment Canada Pincher Creek and area is warming up gradually at this time.  A high of -27° C is expected later today, with a high of -18° C projected for tomorrow, December 8.  Monday is expected to reach -10° C.

Sun worshippers might want to take note of the forecast for Wednesday December 11, when temperatures are expected to reach a balmy -7° C according to Environment Canada and it may even get as warm as -5° C on Wednesday according to The Weather Network.  Go Weather Network!

The warmest day forecast for next week is Thursday, December 12 when the thermometer may reach 0° C.  Picnic weather.
