Press release

The Pincher Creek Humane Society/SPCA has been approved for the Alberta Culture Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) grant for $125,000.00.

This grant will be used to fund the new facility for the Pincher Creek Humane Society to be built at its present site, 1068 Kettles Street, Pincher Creek to replace the existing inadequate, outdated facility.

The Town of Pincher Creek and the Municipal District of Pincher Creek are contributing monies toward this project as well.

Being awarded this grant has helped toward making the new facility a reality.

Both the Town of Pincher Creek and the Municipal District of Pincher Creek have been supportive of the efforts of the PCHS/SPCA to construct a new facility to house the lost, abused, abandoned or relinquished dogs and cats that come into our care.

Construction of the new facility will commence in the spring of 2014. We are in the process of obtaining the preliminary assessments and advertising for “expression of interest” from design/build contractors.

Donations for the new facility are welcome and appreciated.
