I would like to take this opportunity to update you on a number of events happening at Livingstone School.
I am so proud of our wonderful K-12 school community! Our students, staff and parents have been generously raising funds for a number of causes during this season:
- WE Day: Grade 9 students attended WE Day and are now leading the collection of change; raising funds to support the building of schools around the world
- Rafikis: following WE Day, our Student Council sold Rafiki's ( friendship chains). 116 Rafiki's were sold raising $1160 that will be used to support the gift of education in Me to We communities.
- Movember - several staff and students participated in Movember, raising funds to support prostate cancer research. Mr. MacDonald, our Phys. Ed. instructor allowed students who raised the most money to shave off his moustache and to shave his head!
- Warm Wednesdays - Student Council is sponsoring Warm Wednesdays in December - hot lunches. Funds raised from selling the hot lunches will be donated to local food banks.
- Christmas Giving - elementary students are collecting warm mitts and toques and junior/ senior high students are collecting teen gifts, all to be donated to the Women's Resource Centres in Pincher Creek and Crowsnest Pass
The spirit of Christmas giving is warming the halls of Livingstone School!
