Although the weather outside was crummy, Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village (KBPV) held the 'Largest Christmas Cookie Sale in Pincher Creek History' on Sunday, December 8. There were cookies, squares, fancy cakes, squares, jams and jellies, pies, fudge, rolls and gift bags and baskets filled with edible treats ready to go. In total there were over 500 dozen treats available and the Kootenai Brown Cookbook which will remain available in the giftshop. "It was a real group effort to make this all happen," said Pincher Creek Historical Society President Colleen Cyr.

The chilling recent weather concerned all the volunteers that had worked toward making the event a success. "I was thrilled at the number of people that came," said Cyr. "We are already planning the next one."

This is the first of at least two Christmas fundraisers planned to benefit KBPV this year. The next one is 'Christmas at the Bloomin' Inn', a benefit dinner at which the Southern Accord Chorus will perform. The dinner will be held out at the Bloomin' Inn on Friday, December 13. Cyr said chorus spokesman Carol Quan has said that the entire chorus is very excited to be able to come to Pincher Creek to sing. Tickets will be available at Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village or at the Ranchland Mall from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm until Thursday.
