This year I had the opportunity to go to a life inspiring event with students from Matthew Halton and Canyon schools.
We Day is a event created by Mark and Craig Kielburger to inspire change among students. Tickets to the event are given to students that have made commitments to create change in their community and around the world.
This is done by service projects and by raising awareness about things like clean water for under privileged people, ending children slavery and other various causes that impact our world.
In our community Canyon and Matthew Halton Schools have taken on the challenge to get clean water to India. Matthew Halton also has sponsored a village in India and is currently helping them sustain their agriculture.

We Day is an event which gives students the chance to go and get inspired and just have fun. The WE Day that students from Pincher Creek go to is We Day Alberta, which was held in Calgary on October 24. At this We day speakers included Magic Johnson, Marc and Craig Kieburger, Down With Webster, Shawn Desman, Martin Luther King III, Kenyan Boys Choir and many other inspirational speakers and performers.

One of the people that stood out to me the most is Chris Tse, who gave a very inspirational speech about letting children be children. His main goal was to talk about the children in India who are forced into slavery and the children in Pakistan who are also in forced labor.
Another person who stood out to me was Spencer West who made a seeming impossible feat by climbing mount Kilimanjaro with no legs. He also hand-walked all the way from Edmonton to Calgary. In doing both these feats he has shown to everyone that if you try hard and believe you can do something, most likely you can do it.
One point that hit home to me was the bullying element that they have put into to We day. Celebrities and anyone that wants to will have the chance on April 17 to be silent for those who were forced to be silent due to bullying.

We Day was very inspiring for me and it is great to see more people making chance in our world.
