At their November 2013 meeting the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division Board reviewed correspondence from Deputy Minister Greg Bass, indicating approval for the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division Board of Trustees’ submission of Form 5, Notice of Intent to Reappoint the Superintendent. As a result of this approval, as well as the positive evaluation conducted on September 24, 2013, Mr. Chris Smeaton shall be reappointed as Superintendent of Schools, effective October 1, 2013 to September 30, 2018.
Smeaton was also cited in the November 2013 edition of "School Administrator" in the “Best of Blogs” section.
Special Meeting of the Board
On November 7, 2013 the Board of Trustees ratified the Memorandum of Agreement with ATA Local No. 5. A liturgy and signing ceremony was held on November 26, 2013 in honour of the successful conclusion to these labour negotiations.
Lethbridge Bid for 2019 Canada Winter Games
The division has been approached by the Lethbridge Sports Council to lend its support in bidding for the 2019 Canada Winter Games.
