PARENT LINK RURAL EARLY CHILDHOOD MENTAL HEALTH LIAISON

This newly created position offers an excellent opportunity to someone interested in supporting and advancing the mental health and well being of children ages 0 to 5 years and their families throughout southern Alberta.  The successful candidate will work with Parent Link Centres to determine potential mental health needs and link families to appropriate services. The understanding of services needed and offered will assist in PLC advocacy for filling service gaps.


Qualifications: 

• Knowledge of early childhood development.
• Early childhood diploma an asset.
• Post-secondary education. Bachelor’s Degree in the helping professions preferred.
• Clear child welfare and police record checks.
• Valid driver’s license, clear driver’s abstract and a reliable vehicle.
• Capable of working independently and with various teams, organizing, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
• Experience in community development an asset.
• Excellent presentation and computer skills.
• Knowledgeable in cultural competency.
• Familiarity with the ASQ and ASQ-SE an asset.

This is a full-time (35 hours/week), term, contracted position guaranteed through March 2014 with a strong likelihood of continuation. The position pays $24 - $26/hour with reimbursement for use of personal vehicle. Travel and some weekend and evening work expected. The successful candidate will be based at the Pincher Creek Family Resource Society /Parent Link Centre. A dedicated cell phone will be provided.
