St. Michael's JV and Senior Girls volleyball Dragons hosted the Kainai Lady Warriors at the Dale Wentz Memorial Gym on Wednesday evening October 16.

The Dragons automatically forfeited the JV game, because they have seniors filling out their JV roster, but played it anyway for the fun and the experience.  The Dragons had the top score in all three sets.  Star Smalleyes of the Warriors demonstrated a good serve during that game.

The Senior best-of-five game was rather one-sided, with the Dragons easily winning three sets in a row.

This was the third league game of the season for the Dragons.  Dragons Coach Tyler Speelman was pleased with the team's performance.  "All in all the girls have played really well this year.  They've stepped up and played better.  Our goal is to get more attacks in a game, and we have been."

"Hannah Evans served awesomely tonight.  She was hitting her spots," said Speelman, who was directing her where to send her serves.  "That's really hard to do if you're not used to it.  She was definitely the highlight of the game tonight."

The Dragons recently played at a tournament at Kate Andrews School in Coaldale, where they had little success.  "That was a really hard tournament, some really good teams there," said Speelman.
