Wow, the past 4 weeks have been a bit slower but with great moments!
Some of us attended the Heritage Acres Fall Fair. They did a dandy job with their displays of machinery, exciting tractor pulls, and the Harvester demonstration was really fascinating to those of us that have never seen such a sight! The craft sales were large with a lot of excellent handy work in everyone’s projects. We did have lots of people come in and chat and have a good laugh with us. The quilts on display were absolutely eye catchingly beautiful.
We had the Personal Touch Fashion Company come to Crestview Lodge. We do enjoy the colors and their great fashion sense. Even the staff enjoy shopping, so you know the fashions are stylish, modern and well made.
One outing we were excited for was the Coleman Legion Seniors Party. The entertainers they had that afternoon were amazing! It seemed like all of entertainers played guitars. We had a great time as they sang some great songs we know and love. The Legion also supplied some fancy sandwiches and great goodies for us to enjoy. This Party was even better than last years. Kudos to the Legion for a Great Party.
On the day of Pub Night we were able to enjoy 2 entertainers. In the afternoon the Golden Tones played the saxophone and piano for us. They were very enjoyable and we were glad we didn’t miss them on their tour of Pincher Creek. In the evening Rainy Day Music played for us during our pub night. They have been regular entertainment for us and they always do a splendid job.
On September 25 we had Vista Village come join us for coffee here at Crestview. I think it was our biggest crowd yet! We enjoyed great company that we don’t get to see too often.
Our coffee outing this month was to Mrs. P’s. The goodies were delicious and the staff always treat us so very well there. Always a good experience.
Our Birthday Party was a fun celebration. We celebrated 2 birthdays - Ida’s and Marjorie’s. Ed Gross played his accordion for us and we sang along to tunes we knew. He was teasing us about how rusty he was and needed practice. We paid no never mind and completely enjoyed his playing. We are so glad he came to entertain us.
October 1, 2013 was National Seniors Day. Here at Crestview we celebrated with an in-house special tea time. All the residents were given a carnation and a thank you from the CAO of the Lodge Millie Loeffler and the Activities Coordinator Charmaine T. Certificates were given out to 14 residents who worked hard within the hobby club to raise money for their entertainments and trips for the year.
Congratulations to all the residents because you all in some way help make it a great place to be!
Just a small note before we go, we are looking for any donations of small proper canning jars ½ pint and ¼ pint sized for jelly making and crafts.
Also we were hoping for volunteer entertainment. We have such a limited budget that it is hard to find people who are willing to come and sing or play music for us, that is not costing so much. Take care everyone.
Ta Ta for now.
