"I want to bring to the table my experience from working a bit on the other side of the fence in administration," said Rubbelke, later explaining "I worked in the Town administration for a little while, and I did taxation in the MD of Pincher Creek for about five years. I've seen it from the other side of the fence, and thought I should see it from this side of the fence. Now I'm really going to know what it's all about."
"I really want to contribute to this town. My family moved here about 12 years ago and we've been very fortunate. This community has been wonderful to us and I want to give back to it and I think that this is the best way to do it.
"I never wanted to run for council until I moved here, and every time they have an election I say, 'I think I should do that', and right now is the perfect time to do it in my life. I have the time to contribute and give it my full attention."
"I don't have a lot of pre-conceived notions about what has to be done, I don't have an agenda to push. I'm not the only voice at the table."
"I want people to know that they can come to me."
"I am going to do the best I can."
Rubbelke said she was looking forward to the Town of Pincher Creek all-candidates forum scheduled for Thursday October 3.
The Town of Pincher Creek Organizational Meeting and Swearing In Ceremony is scheduled for Monday October 28.
