Man arrested after performing indecent act in front of Fort Macleod children


On Wednesday September 11th, 2013 at approximately 3:30 in the afternoon the Fort Macleod RCMP received a report that an indecent act was witnessed by youth in the community while they were walking home after their school day.

A male driving blue car had approached the youth near the F.P. Walshe High School in Fort Macleod and was performing an indecent sexual act that was made visible to the young witnesses. The youth immediately reported this activity to their parents who informed the RCMP of the subject and vehicle description. With assistance from concerned parents the police were able to quickly locate and apprehend the suspect.

The suspect, a 29 year old male, was arrested and charged with two counts of indecent exposure to persons under the age of 16. The subject was released from custody by the Justice of the Peace with conditions and restrictions applicable to the nature of the offence.

James Jonathan Bryshun is set to appear in Fort Macleod Provincial court on Wednesday September 18th at 10:00 am.

The Fort Macleod RCMP would like to thank the public for the prompt reporting of this incident which assisted in the quick identification and apprehension of this individual.
