On Thursday evening August 22 Crestview Senior's Lodge in Pincher Creek held their annual Family Barbeque.

"We have around 180 people here right now and 41 residents," said Facility Manager Millie Loeffler, who welcomed everyone that came.

Loeffler was happy with the turnout.  Part of the meal is provided by the facility but visitors were encouraged to bring favorite family recipes to the event, making it a fun potluck event.  All around the dining room residents were chatting with friends and family.

A slideshow of activities that have happened throughout the facility over the last twelve months ran continuously in the main dining room.

Barb Lloyd and John Clark sung 'God will Take Care of You' then Clark said grace before the meal.

Activity Coordinator Charmaine Tienkamp was kept busy with announcing, holding draws, and keeping traffic flowing at the banquet table.

John Sinnott is optimistic that the Crestview Lodge Hobby Club will have the summer area patio in a useable state for next year at this time.  His dream is that everyone will be able to enjoy the barbeque supper outside if they choose to.

The plans for that area include a paved area with good wheelchair access, trees to provide shade and act as a wind barrier, fire pit, seating and areas for other activities nearby.  "It's not progressing as fast as I'd like, but I hope it will be ready next year.  Maybe even parts of it this fall."
