Yesterday evening August 18, 2013 at 8:00 pm Crowsnest Pass RCMP were dispatched to a 5 vehicle collision west of Coleman on Highway 3. Crowsnest Pass Emergency Services along with Pincher Creek EMS, Sparwood EMS and Lethbridge RCMP traffic Services attended the scene of this 5 vehicle collision. The injured were transported to the Crowsnest Pass Health Center with unknown injuries.
Pincher Creek Emergency Services was originally asked to attend with two ambulances, according to Chief Dave Cox, but it was determined that only one was needed so the other was told to stand down before attending the scene.
Alcohol was not a factor in the motor vehicle collision. Weather and highway conditions were sunny and clear and dry roads. Two of the vehicles rolled as a result of the collision, closing Highway 3 for approximately 3 hours.
Crowsnest Pass RCMP along with Lethbridge Traffic Service's are continuing the investigation into the cause of the collision.
