Foothills 4-H Beef Club holds Awards Night

Foothills 4-H Beef Club's Awards Night Supper was held at the farm of Sheldon and Larrisa Lewis on July 12.  The evening started with 4-H grace followed  with a steak dinner before concluding with the awards and presentation ceremonies.

This was a celebration of all of the club members' achievements over the course of the season and recognition for the many people and organizations that help the club in a variety of aspects including donations, transportation, photography, and mentoring.  The club raised money by raising a charity steer that was auctioned off during the season.  From the sale of that steer the club made $1700 and donated $850 to Pincher Creek Care Bears and another $850 to the Free the Children Foundation.

Awards were given to club members in attendance by David DeCock with Lorraine Bruder assisting.  The members were reminded to personally thank the various people and businesses who help the club achieve their many successes throughout the season. Each of the club members were given new hoodies along with their awards, and many members will be returning in the fall.
