State of Local Emergency ended for Crowsnest Pass

Press release issued at 2:00 pm, June 23, 2013

The Local State of Emergency that was declared on June 20, 2013 at 7:00 am has been terminated as of June 23rd, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Efforts of the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass and other agencies will continue as we move into the recovery and remediation stage.

At this hour residents are advised:

Receptacle bins have been placed at the following sites in the community for debris that has accumulated from the flood, please no toxic or electronic items at this time:
  • Behind the Municipal Office in Coleman
  • In Blairmore on the east side of the Greenhill Hotel
  • In Blairmore on 20 Avenue across from the Nippon Institute of Technology
  • In Hillcrest on the corner of 8 Avenue and 22 Street by the old ball diamonds
  • In Hillcrest on 8 Avenue by the pedestrian bridge

Home owners with damaged property are encouraged to document their damage prior to clean up or reconstruction, contacting their home insurance provider and phone the Municipal Office to register.
