St. Michael's School gymnasium held their Rock Band Concert on Friday, June 21 in Pincher Creek. On the list of featured performers were the St. Michael's Middle School Rock Band The Noise, a 15 person ensemble. They took to the stage first and were followed by the Senior High Rock Band, Electric Mayonnaise. Electric Mayonnaise featured 9 regular performers and special guest student, Amelia Woodard. For the last song of the day Electric Mayonnaise backed special guest singers (and school staff) Lynn Wocknitz and Tina Delinte who shook it all loose and showed off their pipes with Sweet's version of Dead or Alive's You Spin Me Round.

"I was impressed with the improvements I saw in the group members over the course of the year," said Rock Band Teacher, and gig sound man, Mr. Krizan. "They all did well, but I have to say that we were so fortunate to have Jared Pittman as a lead player in the senior group, because he is such a natural player, and it was so easy for the rest of the group to follow him. We'll be looking to fill his shoes next year as he is graduating this year. Congratulations to him and Katelynn who is also graduating."

A special treat was the performance of a medley that was put together by the Mr. Krizan and the students. Called 'The Medley' it was a combination of Anastasia by Slash, The Metal by Tenacious-D, Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden, Rock You Like a Hurricane by The Scorpions, and Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. This flowed well together and was carried off with flair. The concert was a very entertaining time, and a great way to kick it loose at the end of the school term.
Music the universal language being carried forward from past generations by this generation for future generations to enjoy. Great job everyone in pursuing excellence and using past musical greats to build today's musical talent while moving forward into the unknown future of unlimited possibilities.
