It was a wet evening for Pincher Creek to host Sparwood on May 28.  The two U-14 soccer teams chose to brave the weather and went ahead with their game at Pincher Creek's pool field.

Sparwood was a faster, and more aggressive team.  It became obvious that these two teams were unevenly matched, but that didn't stop Pincher Creek players from trying to span the distance of Sparwood's lead or from having fun.

Pincher was facing a daunting 0 - 7 at the half, but they didn't let it get them down.  They kept playing with enthusiasm and in the second half they were able to keep Sparwood down to a single goal but were unable to score one of their own, the game ending 0 - 8.

"They played well, a much better second half than first half," said Pincher Coach Kelly Lepin.  "The team is improving on their positions and their passing is getting better.  Most of them are 12, and we only have a few that are 14.  We have a really young team this year."
