RCMP asks public to help bring missing children home

  • May 25 is National Missing Children’s Day in Canada and the RCMP has a call to action for the public - Help us bring them home!

This year, five child abduction cases from across Canada are featured on the Canada’s Missing website. From May 21 to 25 the RCMP is sharing them on Facebook and Twitter and asking the public to participate.

“When it comes to missing children, police officers work tirelessly to find them, but public participation is so important,” said RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson. “We are asking the public to please look at these cases, read the stories, and share them. No matter how old an investigation is or how insignificant a piece of information may seem, you may have the one clue needed to solve a case.”

How the public can help:
  • Visit canadasmissing.ca to review the cases and learn how to submit a tip
  • “Like” Royal Canadian Mounted Police on Facebook to see information about the cases and share them.
  • Follow @rcmpgrcpolice on Twitter to read about and retweet the cases.
“Our Government takes the safety of Canadian children seriously. We will not forget our missing children and their loved ones,” said the Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety. “For National Missing Children’s Day, we’re calling on Canadians to help us bring them home.”

Five cases are featured for National Missing Children’s Day, but there are more than 100 missing children’s profiles on canadasmissing.ca. The public can continue to help by visiting the site, searching the profiles of missing children, and sharing the information.

Canadasmissing.ca is Canada’s first national website designed to engage the public in reporting tips and information related to specific ongoing investigations. The site currently includes a sampling of profiles of missing persons and unidentified remains from across Canada, with information submitted by police officers, medical examiners, or chief coroners. Canada’s Missing is a key component of the federal government’s commitment to the Canadian public to help bring the missing home.
