Piikani Nation RCMP say they have no suspect vehicle right now in this incident. "We thought we did," said Constable Tyrone Potts, "Now we're suspecting a piece of board came off a vehicle and struck our pedestrian in the face, killing her." Constable Potts said it was likely a 2x4 or a 2x6 that struck her.
Edna Four Horns, the victim, a 26 year-old Piikani Nation resident, was walking towards traffic on Highway 3 at about 10:22 pm on Friday, May 17 when she was killed.
"There's a good chance whoever did it didn't realize they did," said Constable Potts. "We're appealing to the public to help us with any information." Anybody traveling Highway 3 around 10:22 pm on Friday, May 17 may have useful information for the ongoing investigation.

On Friday, May 17, 2013 at approximately 10:44 pm Piikani Nation RCMP and Emergency Services were dispatched to a fatal pedestrian accident on Highway # 3 and Range Road 282, about 3 km east of Brocket. A 26 year old female was pronounced dead at the scene. The highway was shut down while police investigated.

An eyewitness report was received by this publication from a traveler who was in a vehicle passing through Brocket on Highway 3 at about 11:20 pm. "We had to take a small detour at Brocket because the Fire Department was there, along with about 5 Police vehicles and 2 ambulances. From what I could see... they were covering up one body on the road. This was on the south side of the Brocket Highway, and police were searching the area."
At 2:30 am Saturday morning RCMP was still on scene and Peigan Fire was continuing to assist by diverting highway traffic around the scene.
Police are seeking assistance from the public, asking anyone who has any information or was traveling on Highway # 3 at the time of the accident to please contact the Piikani Nation RCMP at 403-965-2001 or Crime Stoppers if you have any information about this incident.
