Out and About May 23, 2013: Changeable weather

At the time I'm writing this, the skies over Pincher Creek are mostly blue and there's very little wind.  That hasn't been the case for the last few of days, when brisk winds ushered in rainy weather and some snow in Crowsnest Pass and along Highway 22.  A Rainfall Warning issued for the area on Tuesday May 21 has now ended, but more rain is still predicted for Friday, Saturday, and Monday.

.
The deluge necessitated the postponement of many local outdoor sporting events over the last two days.  However, athletes from around the region who were participating in the Senior Track event at the St. Michael's School field  yesterday bravely continued to compete despite ever worsening weather.

A spring season Senior Mustangs football game scheduled to be held on Saturday afternoon May 25 starting at 2:00 pm at Matthew Halton field against Cranbrook is expected to happen "Rain or shine".  The concession will be available at that event as well.

Creek and river beds in the area are swollen at this time, as evidenced in the photos and video accompanying this article, taken today with the exception of the track and field photo from yesterday.  We'll have a full story about that event once all the stats are in.
