Recreational Aide Errin Robinson acted as Emcee for the event, thanking all those that came, letting everyone know that carnations were being sold in the front desk area with all the proceeds going toward the annual Multiple Sclerosis Carnation Campaign. Some had family in attendance for multiple generations, others had friends flock together to help them celebrate the day, and others enjoyed time with those in Vista.

Robinson invited everyone to enjoy their tea and dessert. Robinson then introduced a musical performance by four members of the Crowsnest Pass Symphony Orchestra string section, with Caroline Johnson accompanying them on a keyboard. "It's nice to do this, this is the second time we have done the Mother's Day Tea," said Johnson. All five ladies that performed are music lovers and delight in playing for themselves, and the enjoyment of others.
