May Long Weekend statistics from Alberta's Integrated Traffic Units

The Integrated Alberta Traffic units across Alberta were deployed in strength across the province and conducted coordinated road safety activities on all major transportation corridors.

The reported collision data to date indicates Albertans experienced seven fatal collision events that resulted in the death of eight persons.

The RCMP report the following criminal activities interdicted on Alberta roadways:


48 - Drivers Charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle including the following:
            1 - driver charged with Impaired Operation by a drug
            1 - driver charged with Impaired Operation causing bodily harm    

3 - Drivers charged with other criminal driving offences
            1 - driver charged with operating MV pursued by police
            2 - drivers charged with dangerous operation of a MV

The Alberta Integrated Traffic Units, which include Alberta Traffic Sheriffs and dedicated RCMP traffic personnel, report the following provincial enforcement statistics (totals over the course of 3 days):
