Kids Discovery Day Junior Journalists Part 1: Candid Cameras

Caption this

I was blessed to be part of Kids Discovery Day again this year, held on May 4.  For an overview of the whole event, click here for Lieve Parisis' excellent article 'First Kids’ Discovery Day turned out to be a big hit'.

My station was adjacent to the Pincher Creek Fire Hall, where a rope rescue demonstration (more about that in a future article) by the Pincher Creek Joint Rescue Team was scheduled to take place at  the Hewetson Avenue Bridge.  4 groups of kids for a total of 20 or so all-told participated in the Pincher Creek Voice activity as Junior Journalists.  They were provided with cameras and video cameras, which resulted in a wealth of material to sort through, which is part of the reason I'm so far behind on my deadline.

So, without further ado, here's part 1 of a planned 4 part series of stories from the day.  The theme for this story is simple: pictures of Kids Discovery Day kids (and a few other people) taken (mostly) by Kids Discovery Day kids. My apologies, but figuring out exactly who took what picture is proving to be impossible.  Suffice it to say there appears to be a significant number of talented photographers in our community.

There's a lot of pictures after the break (that's what we call the part of the story after the "read more" bit that will appear below this  sentance if you are reading this story in the main stream of the Pincher Creek Voice).

"I think we have this story covered"

This is Janet Jones.  She LOVES having her picture taken.  Plus, she's a hero.

This is Brett Wuth. He's a hero.

"Save me Cap'n Dave, it's a pack of journalists!!"

For 10 points, what's wrong with this picture?

Don't try this at home.
Don't try this at home either
Stay tuned for more about the Rope Rescue demonstration.

Janet Jones.  Really loves to have her picture taken.
