“Communities In Bloom” countdown

What is happening this year?

On July 24th, 2013 judges will arrive in Pincher Creek to evaluate Pincher Creek’s accomplishments with respect to:

  • Tidiness  (clean-ups, litter removal)
  • Landscaped Areas and Turf (plantings, maintenance)
  • Natural and Cultural Heritage Conservation (preservation, historical)
  • Trees/Urban Forestry (tree planting, tree care and maintenance)
  • Floral displays (beds and baskets)
  • Environmental Awareness (recycling and other programs)


Judges and local volunteers will tour through at least 80% of the community including the residential, business, industrial, institutional and public areas.


What category are we competing this year? 

  • Pincher Creek is registered in the CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE EVALUATED CATEGORY in order to maintain our scores/bloom ratings .We will not be competing against other communities this year. Judges are Diane Clasen from North Carolina, USA and Lorna Mclroy from Grande Prairie, Alberta.  


What Can You Do To Prepare?
We are asking for your assistance and cooperation to “spruce up” and “bloom up” the Town!

  • Trim your back alley
  • Paint your fence
  • Plant a tree and flowers
  • Compost and recycle
  • Volunteer for a clean-up or with Pincher Planters etc.


Let’s give it our best effort this year!
