Tana Silverland rode her tricycle around Canada in support of SOS Childrens Villages from June 2010 until November 2012. Pincher Creek was one of her stops along the way, and so was a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize. After two years, five months and 22,300 km she cycled up Parliament Hill in Ottawa to conclude her "grand (and possibly slightly insane) odyssey".
Now, apparently, as of April 1 she's working as a dental assistant in Iqaluit, capital of Nunavut.
I believe the trip is a indication of her courage and fortitude no matter how others may view what she has accomplished. When people stick to it then others notice and possibly realize that this is a person they want in their organization. Congratulations go out to Tana and any other individuals that let their music out in order to persue their dreams and goals no matter where they may lead.
